We love that our hometown hosts the National Championships - it's a testament to the hard work that the legends over at Port Adelaide Cycling Club put in to secure our spot to host the most important race of the season!
We're excited to have our interstate friends and rivals join us in the Adelaide Parklands once again for a weekend of racing - the 4th round of the National Series will be interesting watching as well!
Bright was the first race we'd raced outside our home state of South Australia and it was a real eye-opener. Bright was considerably easier than the day before in Mt Beauty - but it was still a very hard day out against a wider field made up not only of all those who had made the trip from Melbourne, but some heavyweights from up the East Coast as well as plenty of the local talent from SA.
We're really looking forward to coming back to Bright in 2017 with more experience under our belts - and I imagine if that creek crossing is in again we'll not attempt to ride it this time!
The race at Mt Beauty was perhaps our favourite race of 2016. It had everything - freezing temperatures, rain, hail, horrible off-camber bits, steep up- and down-hill sections, and of course, plenty of that thick, gooey alpine mud.
We're very excited to be coming over to Mt Beauty again for this race, and it makes a perfect warm-up for our first foray for the year into the National Series the next morning, just a few km's away in Bright!
